Would you rather be online for free at McDonalds or pay at Starbucks?

Starbucks RewardsMcDonalds now has free internet and I can go online at Starbucks for two hours a day for free because I’m at a Green Rewards Level.  I’m just not the type of person to hang out in coffee shops online, although I’m thinking I may try to do that more.  Blogging, Twittering and non-design work would be good to do there and at least I’d be getting outside (eeerrr, away from my desk) and maybe even have a life conversation with a real person.   I can’t even imagine being online at McDonald’s but maybe that’s because my son is 20 now and it wasn’t a thing when he was at the Mcdonald’s age.  I used to take him to Chuck-e-Cheese plot him in front of those furry animals on stage in a high chair and sit a couple of booths back with my salad bar, glass of Chardonnay and a magazine (actually it was pretty nice if I remember correctly), guess it would kinda be the same with a laptop instead.

I’d rather find the Bar or Nightclub with free wi-fi.  I always have my AspireOne in my purse and it would be nice to blog, twitter, organize my bookmarks while have

Free Wi-fi at McDonalds

I guess if needing more time online for free at Starbucks becomes an issue I could make sure I went in there everyday for a coffee (since points are based on per purchase with your card, I’ve actually been going in there to buy beans so I’m eating up potential single purchases.  But could I use more than 2 hours online at Starbucks?  Could I sell that time on Craigslist?

Multiple Google Accounts and Chrome

I love when you want to do something, you do a search and bam…there you go, the answer.

I have mutiple google accounts to manage all kinds of things from google voice to analytics to rss feeds, etc.  An issue would be logging in and out of accounts when using the same browser.  I would have Firefox, Chrome, Safari and (eeek yuk) ie open with different google accounts logged in so I would get booted off of a particular one when logging into another.

Found this article, “Use Multiple Google Accounts Simultaneously in One Browser With Google Chrome”  that made me remember the “incognito browsing” in Chrome or Private Browsing in Firefox.  Just open another window in that mode and voila, you can log in and stay logged in.  The other area this would be good for is when I’m editing CMS sites so that I can make sure that I’ve edited permissions correctly for anonymous users.

I’m happy.  Really diggin Chrome.
