Now that the iPod Touch has a built-in mic and two cameras, it very much is a WIFI-only iPhone. With apps like FaceTime and Skype, you don’t need to buy an iPhone if you plan on making calls from home or work. This is pretty much the perfect device for non-telcom users like myself. Throughout my week, I am away from WIFI maybe two or three hours. Frankly, that’s better than the cell reception I get.

I don’t use AT&T and have absolutely no desire to switch.  Over the past few years I’ve gotten over being tied to a cell phone and it really seems like I have it for emergency calls but if I’m away from wi-fi it usually means I’m just busy and don’t really want to talk on the phone or the conversation most likely would be pointless because I’m not in front of my computer.

I’m going to be traveling out of the country for an extended period of time and really thing this will be a nice solution to being on skype while I’m away from my desk.  All my contacts numbers are either a skype in or google voice so we’re good to go.  I’ll let you know how I like it.

I’ll be away for a few months but I’ll be able to receive my phone calls from skype and google voice and have also obtained an international skype-in number that will make it easier for my new friends in the area to call me locally as well.

I love my little Acer Aspire One but I also like lots and lots and lots of screens (I still want my Triple-Screens) but the multi screen laptop apparently is coming.  GScreen’s Dual-Screen Spacebook they expect to weigh at least 12 pounds and is built around the 15.4 inch screen and its twin, identically sized screen slides out from behind the first using a uniquely designed sliding mechanism.  I guess IBM already has one but it’s just a 10″ addition, which you would think would make any girl happy…but NOT ME!

I do print quite a bit but my toner cartridges and the drum cartridge (which I seem to be buying everytime I turn around) are extremely expensive.

I’m going to try a drum reset chip (Dell 3100 3100CN 3000 3000CN Series Drum Reset Chip) and see if that works.  There are also toner cartridges from Media Sciences which are much cheaper so maybe I won’t hate my printer so much.

I use two monitors and have for quite some time now and almost feel like I can’t function when just using one monitor.  Three monitors would be perfect!  My dream come true.

Years ago there was a monitor called the “Grand Canyon” by Liebermann but I believe the company went out of business and the monitor was even featured on an episode of Sex and the City, with Carrie Bradshaw typing her column o Aleksandr Petrovsky’s “fancy computer”.

The Liebermann Monitor was approximately $12K at the time and there was no way in hell I was paying that for a monitor (even if I could).

I did, however, recently discover a new one by Zenview.  Not only do they have the “trio” but all types of configurations from 19″ side monitors and a 24″ center one to various stacked configurations.  I REALLY WANT ONE!!!
