Website Design

A clear understanding of the process will help ensure that everyone is on the same page and save you money and time in the long-run.

Website Design & Development

The following is a general outline of the process for developing a web site.  There are slight variations if additional requirements are also incorporated into your project such as logo design and social media integration and marketing.  In most cases, we can “ala-carte” certain parts and will try to outline cost differences between implementing an option at the on-set of a project or picking up on it later down the road, when time and budget may permit.

Information Gathering

We find out about you, your business, and your products and services and what you hope to accomplish with your website. Many things need to be taken into consideration when we design the look and feel of your site, so we first ask a lot of questions to help us understand your business and your needs in a web site.

We usually send you a questionnaire to use as a guide when discussing your project.

Things to consider:

  • PurposeWhat is the purpose of your site?
  • Goals - What do you hope to accomplish with your website (social media marketing, etc.)
  • Target AudienceThe “ideal” person that you are targeting as a customer.
  • ContentWhat kind of information needs to be available on your site that your target audience will be looking for?  How much of this content is readily available and what content still needs to be developed.
  • Budget and TimeframeIn most cases, coordinating social media marketing at the same time that you are working to launch a new website is the best route but if time and budget prevent this we can divide your desires into project phases that work.

Proposal and Planning

Using the information gathered from our questionnaires and meetings, we will put together a plan for your web site (and any additional projects).

We develop a sitemap to list main topic areas and any sub-layers that will serve as a guide for what content is planned for the site. This guide is key in developing a consistent and easy to understand navigation/menu system.

Based on features and functionality requested, this is also where we would look at what technologies should be implemented to handle functions such as: interactive forms, multi-media management, content updates, etc.

Design and Features

The information that we have gathered to this point will help us determine the “look and feel” of the site based on your branding (or desired branding), your target audience and any additional information.

Depending on how specific you were with your desired design we will provide you with 1-3 “mock ups” to start to work towards your final look and feel.

Add-On Options

Besides general content including any blog option you may want additional features such as:

  • Logo Design
  • Social Media Branding and Posting
  • Email List Management
  • e-Commerce
  • Forum
  • Membership Area
  • RSS Feeds
  • Copywriting and Content Creation
  • Enhanced SEO Packages

Depending on your specific needs we will incorporate these options into your project and timeline.

Project Timeline and Terms

Most basic projects can be completed within 2-4 weeks and more advanced sites slightly longer.  Timeline begins with payment of deposit and confirmed agreement.

Any add-ons are billed once confirmed during the installation process and hosting payments can be paid quarterly or discounted annual payment. Non-Archetype Marketing hosted designs will incur an installation charge.

Discounts With Design Package

Web hosting and many of the add-ons or additional options are discounted when incorporated into the original project.

For example: With new design packages, web hosting is discounted significantly for annual payments and includes one hour per month for that first year that you can use towards content updates, training or any modifications that frequently come up during the first few months.
